An Interview With a Goddess: Leesa Wilson

I am The Gypsy Priestess; Creatress of Goddess of the Gypsy Moon. Yet, were I to speak with the voice of a sister/friend, I would introduce myself thus:
Leesa, or as her beloved harem call her: 'Petal' & 'Sistar'. She is in many ways so childlike, playful, trusting, and kind-hearted... yet in other ways she is deep, mystical, poetic, ancient in her being. There is a naked vulnerability which is quietly seductive about her aura. She is a romantic at heart. I admire her grace, passion, creativity, and love of beauty. She is fearless in following her dreams.Though she is lustful of her inner sanctuary, she delights in sharing her imaginative spirit, her love, and her magickal visions and gifts with others. I am humbled to present 'The one who asks the questions' in this interview with a goddess.

She who is delighted to be a 21st Century Goddess:
Leesa Wilson

5 Questions I ask of the Goddess in you:

1.
How do you nurture & nourish your self so that you may embody the goddess?

I nurture and nourish myself in various ways to embody the goddess within:

I listen to her, I honor the wisdom she shares, I find ways to act and express her truth. To care for and deeply sustain my needs on every level, I take time for myself. To nurture is to surround my self in beauty... every thing in my home pleases my eye, my senses, my energetic field and my soul. I keep my thoughts in alignment with my core beliefs, my dreams, my heart felt wishes. I comfort myself when sad; I bless myself when hurting; I remind myself when struggling; I hold myself when fearful. I love myself just as I am. And I take walks in nature, near water, trees, caves & flowers..

Nourishing myself requires mothering myself: Eating a healthy diet, gentle exercise, time to rest, daydream and slumber, time to be disciplined in 'work', and whispering, "I love you." often. I feed my imagination and deep hunger with books, serendipity, play, lovers, wonder and awareness. Yet, I can not nourish myself alone... I am dependent on others for clothing, shelter, energy, bathing and food, and the Great Mystery and Mother Earth for rocking my spirit, encouraging my growth, guiding my path, feeding my inner spark/flame, and loving me unconditionally, as SELF knowing I am One with All that Is.

2.
What inspires you and expands your awareness?

Many things/people inspire me and expand my awareness.

From the seemingly mundane - a falling star, a flower, the roar of the ocean, the crash of thunder, a brilliant thought, a melodic song, a lost whisper on the wind... Colour inspires me. Rain, birth, the translucent shimmering of some unknown fae realm, and the richness of soil, where within a seed lays hidden beneath
before blossoming into being, this utterly breathes me in. Inspiration is everywhere. I am most inspired by people who bring to life images that elicit memories and something unspoken. I am inspired by those who speak truth with the purest love. I am inspired by men who are strong enough to be gentle, who are wise enough to be open, who are brave enough to be a true lover of woman. I am inspired by women who are soulful, naked, wise, honest, creative, adventurous, brave, and sensually enchanting, and willing to express their inner goddess.

To the mystifying sublime- Vision, tantric sex, kissing, magick, living seasonally and being in rhythm with the sacred expands my awareness. Being midwife and doula to the dying expands my awareness in ways that can only be described as w/holy spiritual. The cycles of life, death and rebirth, the cosmic womb and the Great Mothers divine feminine energies expand my awareness in profound ways on a daily basis. Change expands my path, my understanding, and my limits and boundaries. Transformation, introspection, cosmic pondering, labyrinths, intimacy, a broken heart, rites of passage, ritual and the unknown expands my awareness on levels known, and yet to be remembered.

3.
What poem, quote, song, or book both breaks & opens your heart?

Too Deep for Tears by Kathryn Lynn Davis is a book so poetic that it spoke to my heart on a soul level; there is something about it that still haunts me with an unspoken beauty.

Wild Horses by the Rolling Stones,
Thunder Crashes by Live,
Heaven Coming Down by the Tea Party

These are songs that no matter how many times I hear them, they still have the power to find the most tender parts within my being.

These are the quotes which speak the language of my gypsy spirit:

We are all wanderers on this earth.
Our hearts are full of wonder, and our souls are deep with dreams.
Gypsy proverb

There came a time when the risk to remain tight in the bud
was more painful than the risk it took to blossom.
~ Anais Nin ~

I am so thirsty for the marvelous that only the marvelous has power over me. Anything I can not transform into something marvelous, I let go. Reality doesn't impress me. I only believe in intoxication, in ecstasy, and when ordinary life shackles me, I escape one way or another.  No more walls.
~Anais Nin~

When the Invisible has become your food,
you've won Eternal Life and death has fled.
When the agony of love has begun to expand your life,
roses and lilacs take over the garden of your soul.
Rumi-

One always learns ones mystery at the cost of ones innocence.

And, this poem which spoke from the depths of me

late October moon

when night blankets the sky
in liquid velvet and violet hues
i walk the path of dreams ...
and enter into my sacred garden
to wait for you.

the pale beauty
of fragrant flowers
call me to their bed
but
i am not yet sleepy
and still
i wait for you.

the wind howls
and catches hold of my secret thoughts
his fingers dance through my hair
and tease the hem of my gown
i whisper
"are you there?"

the sound of distant thunder
echoes your voice
like waves across my soul
and moves the earth
beneath my feet
and i tremble
thinking.... "is it you?"

within the intangible vastness
of the ocean sky
a million stars shine
and long to embrace me
yet i long
for your embrace.

the October moon understands
a sensual pearl....
the Queen of Heaven
she shimmers
and pours Her milky light
upon my face
covering me in silken vulnerability
revealing only the outline
of my nakedness
and exposing
the undeniable hunger in my eyes
that she knows
you will see.

often,
she has led me
into the tall, dark branches
of your ancient soul
and she has seen the tears
and
heard me sing
my one true song
and thus
she alone
knows
what depths i would dive
in your eyes
for just one
kiss.

And the letters KA which were shown to me (by my daddy after he died) in a dream. It has become my life mission to find the message he was sharing with me. ...so far, silent whispers about "being the original life force which dwells now in the place between heaven and earth...". A book shall be written. And in 2007, I saw the letters KA unexpectedly written on a stone, way up high on the exterior of Bishops Castle.

4.
What truth do you live by that brings you back to your center, your place of balance?

I live by the TRUTH of LOVE. It always brings me back to my center and balances me mind, body and soul.

5.
What are you creating now that may inspire our sistars?

I am creating so many deliciously empowering things! The ancient art of sisterhood, long forgotten but remembered by the Priestess within me, along with the devotion to the sacred feminine in all women is an ongoing passion of mine which constantly keeps me in a state of creativity. The following are a few examples:

Goddess of the Gypsy Moon is always a creation in progress. My online workshops: 13 faces of woman, sacred harlot, dancing the goddess path are passions I love to share; and I am always receiving visions for more! The sacred sisterhood is an exclusive online sanctuary I've created for women to gather and remember the many faces of the goddess within. For years I've envisioned an exquisite pampering act reminiscent of something only dreamed of, which I have finally fleshed out as a private, individualized service called the goddess adorned  which awakens the goddess within on profoundly personal levels that enrich the mind, body and spirit long after the treatment is received! I highly recommend it for all women!

Currently I am offering a three hour "meet-up" at the 13 Moons Goddess Sanctuary in the Denver & Colorado Springs (areas of Colorado ~ and in your home town, if invited) entitled Goddess Gatherings. I feature a different Goddess each month and we, as a group and individually explore ways her wisdom, embody her essence and open ourselves to receive her blessings and gifts.

I write several blogs which represent the many facets of who I am. In addition, I have many dream seeds just beginning to grow which I am tending to with space, light and love, which I will passionately share when they are well rooted and mature enough.

The other huge thing I am creating currently is in the form of manifesting: My long-term home - a sacred space where I can grow lush gardens, gather in circle to celebrate, entertain and play. It's my dream to return to Manitou Springs, Colorado where I feel most at home.

So, basically creating the life I long to live.
